Infant Torticollis Chiropractic Treatment
Torticollis is the shortened and contracted SCM -sternocleidomastoid paired muscle, the muscles that connect the breastbone and collarbone to the skull. Can be Congenital or Acquired Torticollis. It can be visible from birth or within the first months.
That can lead to Plagiocephaly, flatness of the head, breastfeeding difficulties, bended position of the head, on one side, issues with vision in future, and others.
Purpose of the massage:
To improve blood circulation in the affected muscle.
To prevent the formation of scars (adhesions).
Stretch the muscle as much as possible.
To prevent deformities of the head shape.
To prevent the consequences such as visual issues.
